Treatment

The use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy is an extremely effective treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Essentially, the CPAP therapy device generates an airflow through a closed circuit and vented face mask, creating a positive pressure prescribed by a Sleep Medicine Physician. The pressure generated is transmitted from the device, through the circuit and mask, and acts to splint the airway to maintain patency. Simply put, when airway collapse is eliminated, Obstructive Sleep Apnea stops.
